See below.: There are several causes for this. One is that children are less active than they used to be, spending more time in front of screens, such as computers, video games, TV's and other electronic devices. Another is large portion sizes of food, even at meals, both at home and at restaurants. A third is the availability of "fast foods," which may not always be as healthy as home cooked foods.
