Different yeasts: Many foods have yeasts on or in them, especially fruits and vegetables. But these yeast types don't cause infection, and food is not where humans catch yeast infections. We naturally have yeasts in our intestines, mouth, genital tract, and on our skin. A new yeast infection doesn't mean you caught yeast somewhere; it's because your own yeasts overgrow or the body reacts differently to them.
