Return blood: in most people, the pulmonary veins return oxygenated blood back to the left side of the heart so the heart can squeeze the blood out to be delivered to the entire body. In some cases, there is an abnormal communication of pulmonary vein(s) and they can deliver blood to the right side of the heart although this is abnormal.

Pulmonary Veins: The pulmonary veins carry blood from the lungs to the heart. It is freshly oxygenated blood which is carried to the left atrium, the left ventricle, then out to the body. Hope that was helpful.
