A member asked:

Can following a diabetic diet if i'm not diabetic be beneficial?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Can't hurt: A diabetic diet limits simple/processed carbohydrates & unhealthy fats, and should include plenty of natural fiber & foods rich in vitamins & minerals, so it is healthy for almost anyone. If you are at increased risk for developing diabetes, following a diabetic diet may decrease your chances of getting the disease. Joining a diabetic friend/family in their diet is a great way to show your support.
