Yes: Flank pain is a common symptom of ureteral stones, which are kidney stones which have "dropped out" of the kidney and entered the ureter, the tube which carries urine to the bladder. Blockage of urine flow causes stretching of the kidney and ureter which is sensed as flank pain, often severe, sometimes radiating to the lower abdomen or groin and causing nausea/vomiting/sweating.
