Vision: I see you have had some studies. A common reason for a flickering light is some type of disturbance to the retina. Have a visit with your eye doctor.

Sometimes I get phosphenes in my eyes wich will cause a black or grey after flash image and I cannot see through it and the phosphenes will move around inside the patches. Then my vision will go back to normal?
