Why are the schools saying that if your child gets a fever not to treat with a fever reducer medication?

Fever helps..: The body to fight illness. That's why we get a fever...Because the immune system works better with a fever. That said, fever makes you feel awful, so i still use fever reducers just to feel better. I'd rather have several days of semi-misery, rather than one day less of horrible misery. Why is your school giving medical advice?
