I had a urine test as i've been getting stomach pain, showed high levels of protein. what can this mean? 26 f, otherwise healthy. very worried.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Proteinuria: Hi. A high level of proteinuria is a concern. Is your blood albumin low? Do you have edema? I assume the doctor who ordered the UA has addressed this with you, and hopefully gotten you a referral to a kidney specialist. Many different problems can cause heavy proteinuria, and obviously treatment depends on underling pathology. Good luck.
