I have had arthroplasty, and bilateral releases, amongst other things performed on both knees 5 weeks ago. i have pain from my back to my calf?

Call you doctor now: recent surgery and pain in calf, even as you describe, warrants evaluation for a blood clot in the leg. these are called DVT's and present with pain and swelling of the affected leg. If you have any chest pain and or shortness of breath go straight to the emergency room.
