Depends...: If this is completely resolved and these were new birth control pills this could be more likely secondary to the body getting adjusted to the new hormonal changes. If bleeding recurs then you should see your GYN provider for evaluation.

Yes: Seeing a qualified practitioner is always a good approach to a medical problem. If you are under 50, its likely as you say. If you have had a normal PAP int he last year, its probably OK to watch and wait. Any further breakthrough, or if you need a pap, go right away.
