STD risk: Unprotected sex( sex without a condom) carries the risk of sexually transmitted disease ( STD). Correct and consistent use of condoms will mitigate risk but not eliminate it. Unless both partners are known free of STD and are mutually monogamous ( they have sex only with each other) , sex will carry risk of STD.
