A member asked:

I have really bad eye floaters constantly. saw eye doctor and had mri... all normal. what can this be?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Floaters are common: Floaters are usually caused by the jelly inside the eye (the vitreous) undergoing a normal change called syneresis. This creates liquid areas within the gel that house protein cellular debris. When you get in the right lighting situation, this debris casts a shadow onto the retina (the part of the eye that is like film in a camera). Floaters tend to occur earlier in people who are more nearsighted
