Need testing: You do not need to see blood in a syringe for it to be contaminated with viruses like HIV or hepatitis. Please be tested for all blood born illnesses. Please do not share needles with anyone.

Dirty syringe?: you may still be at risk for a blood borne disease. It depends on what the syringe was flushed with. I would see my physician for baseline blood work
