Chelation therapy: The entire concept of chelation therapy, is controversial as far as allopathic doctors (MD'S & DO's) are concerned. The idea that minute amounts of toxic heavy metals can somehow be bound out of the body without affecting other minerals & nutrients seems to be a chemically far-fetched idea. Your body has its own NATURAL approach to chelation & I believe in Mother Nature as being the BEAST!

EDTA: EDTA (ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid) is the primary active ingredient used in intravenous chelation therapy. It can also be taken orally, but the effects take longer. Absorption of the oral EDTA is poor--perhaps maximum 10%. That means, if you consume 1,000 mg per day, you absorb only about 100 mg. Thus, a month's supply of oral EDTA will equal one IV (3 gm).
