Doesn't appear to: As with many modern, studied medications, Dexilant, (dexlansoprazole) a proton pump inhibitor, has a very long list of reported but very uncommon side effects. The only one occurring frequently enough to cause discontinuation was diarrhea. While some cardiovascular effects were reported RARELY, including dysrhythmia, the concerns are minimal. I wouldn't be concerned about weight gain or CV effects with this med.
