Would a standard "blood culture" show if someone had tb? or appear abnormal?

No: TB will not grow unless placed on special culture medium and can seldom be isolated from blood. Bloodborne spread or miliary TB is usually associated with fever, abnormal chest xray and abnormal liver functions. Thanks for trusting HealthTap!
