These are treated : Like a muscle strain as the fractures to the bone are a result of a sudden contraction of the muscle which instead of tearing muscle tissues the force generated by the muscles causes the transverse process to fracture. They heal over a few weeks with no specific treatment other than time, restriction of activities and OTC meds.
