Consider TMJ: TMJ pain can cause head, neck shoulder and back pain. Other TMj symptoms painful chewing, limited oral opening, joint noises. First see your MD to rule out other causes. Then consider seeing a TMJ-orofacial pain specialist to rule out TMJ. Any dentist can be a TMJ expert with the proper training and experience. Most commonly, oral surgeons, prosthodontists, and orofacial pain specialists.
