I'm going to school for ultrasound. we were practicing thyroid protocol and my teacher said i have a cyst. should i be concerned?

Probably not. : If single and small there should be no worry. This should however be evaluated by your pcp/endocrinologist, with an ultrasound interpreted by a radiologist. Although a cyst is commonly benign, findings within the cyst may warrant further evaluation. If a cyst becomes large and impinges upon surrounding structures, some surgeons may decide to remove it.
