Death rattle: Is noisy breathing due to secretions in the throat. It is commonly seen in terminally ill people who cannot cough to clear their secretions. It can occur in anyone however who has pooled secretions in their throat and can't cough or has obstructed breathing. Thanks for trusting HealthTap!
