Gas, not Hunger: Sounds like he is getting a bit of gas. Burp him after every 5 minutes at the breast and be very careful what you eat. You would be surprised how what you eat goes through the breastmilk. If he still feels gassy you can give him 0.3 of simethicone (mylicon) drops before each feed. Congrats on your baby!

Many possibilities: 6 weeks is a growth spurt period, it could be that pt needs to feed more. It is possible mother's supply not keeping up with patient. The patient should be feeding about 8 times a day and feeding for 15-20 minutes at a time. Pt should have 6-8 wet diapers a day. Another possibility is pt having adverse reaction to breast milk, possibly milk protein allergy. Pt would have many loose stools a day
