Periodic congestion: Nasal congestion that occurs only under very specific circumstances is suggestive of allergic rhinitis (especially dust mites if symptoms occur in bed), or vasomotor rhinitis (perhaps triggered by laying flat). Over the counter allergy medications and sleeping with the head and chest slightly elevated may help. Prescriptions solutions may also be available to you.
