2 possibilities: Hi. This could still be a phase of a subacute thyroiditis, although the window of time on that possibility is closing. The other is one or more autonomously hyper-functioning nodules, which in NOT ruled out by your ultrasound. An 123-Iodine uptakes and scan would clarify the issue: VERY low uptakes in subacute thyroiditis, and normal uptakes with hot spot(s) on scan image in toxic nodule(s).
