A member asked:

How does calcification and scar tissue affect vp shunt ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Usually not an issue: There should not be much inflammatory scarring associated with a VP shunt, and am not aware of any shunt having potential to cause calcification. If you need reassurance that your shunt is functioning, see your neurosurgeon and get it checked.
