A few ideas: Burning pain=often nerve pain.Stabbing=usually musculoskeletal.If you have both between shoulders w/more on 1 side, this is common w/ thoracic spine & rib dysfunction.Nerves may be getting stretched or pinched, muscles spasmed, & blood flow compromised.A good history & phys, incl osteopathic hands-on exam may find cause.Treatments may include pain meds, prolotherapy, manipulation,neuroprolo, etc
