Progesterone: Medroxyprogesterone in larger doses might slow down bleeding but "one" will not stop your period. Nothing at this point from a medication will stop it. You should just let it happen and make your plans later in the month. In general if your periods are painful and long, ask your healthcare provider about low dose oral contraception. This will lessen the flow and the symptoms.
