Probably Safe: Adalat (nifedipine) has recently been shown not to cause any developmental issues. However there are more proven agents that provide no fetal harm such as Labetalol or Methyldopa for blood pressure control during pregnancy.

Class C category: Class c means use with caution if benefits outweight risks. Animal studies show risk and human study not available/not done. It is secreted in breast milk so safer alternative is recommended. There are safer med for BP control during pregnancy, but may not be appropriate for everyone..So, consult your doc..Good luck.
