See below: Its a class c risk in pregnancy ie take if benefits exceed risks. Nifedipine crosses the placenta. Use in pregnancy only when clearly needed and when the benefits outweigh the potential hazard to the fetus. Hypotension and fetus growth retardation [iugr are reported as risks.Iugr also reported with maternal hypertension.It is prescribed understanding the above.
