Yes: does sound like a stone. pain is often severe, unrelieved by position. pain occurs when the stone is trying to pass throught the ureter from the kidney to the bladder. you should see your doc or go to er to have this diagnosed. usually with a cat scan or ultrasound (ask for ultrasound, try to avoid radiation from cat scans). If the stone is small it will pass on its own. hope this helps

Kidney stone: is a distinct possibility. Urinary infection (common in women) leads to obstruction which causes stasis which in turn promotes infection. Sounds like you need to have this checked out. Be sure to tell the doctor you are allergic to PCN. Force fluids and have somebody take you to the clinic (you don't want to be driving should you have fluctuating levels of pain)
