Yes: A urinalysis typically will have blood. A serum blood test for BUN and creatinine will tell if you have damage such as hydronephrosis.

Blood test & imaging: A blood test will tell if your renal function is impaired but not diagnose renal stone. Urine examination may help, but imaging studies are more suited for detecting renal stones.
