Heel pain: I do not know whether your heal hurts at the back or the front. Two of the most common reasons for heal pain are Achilles tendinitis or Plantar fasciitis. Either way you could try either a heal pad or an arch support which can cushion and protect the heal.

Yes: Likely this is plantar fasciitis. You can do stretching. You can buy a plantar night splint or a Straussberg sock to help at night. Appropriate shoe gear and not going barefoot is essential.

Yes...ibuprofen : For heel pain it is often overuse. Ice helps very much and ibuprofen taken over the counter for a few days can help too. If the pain lingers, see a foot and ankle specialist as early intervention can help resolve pain quickly.
