Many options: There is typically many options for prostate cancer treatment. Determining factors are: age, other comorbidities/illnesses, biology of disease, psa, stage of disease, etc. , treatment options: watchful waiting, active surveillance, hormones, surgical options (open, laparoscopic, robotic prostatectomy), radiation ( imrt, igrt, cyberknife, protons, ldr, hdr), cryotherapy, hifu. No one size fits all.

Various options: There are many options to consider in the treatment of localized prostate cancer. These options include observation, prostate removal (open surgery, laparoscopy, or robotically), radiaition therapy (external beam or radioactive seeds), cryosurgery (freezing of the prostate), hormonal therapy, and experimental therapy. Your urologist will advise as to which option(s) may be best for you.
