What are the stages of tonsilitis?

None: Tonsillitis does not have stages that I am aware of. Tonsils are sized from 1-4 and this system is usually called tonsil grade or tonsil size or sometimes tonsil stage. Tonsil cancer has different stages from I to IV depending on the size of the tumor and amount of spread of the tumor, if any.
Dr. Devin Cunning
ENT and Head and Neck Surgery 29 years experience
Size and infection: Tonsils may be "staged" 1+ through 4+ based on size. Also infections may be categorized as acute tonsillitis lasting 12 weeks.
