I don't know the: reason. I would ask the prescribing provider. If a person had recurrent hives or other condition that appeared to be related to anxiety, a provider might consider prescribing an SSRI. It's always appropriate to ask what the indication for prescribing a medication is as you are part of your own treatment team. Take care.

Anxiety: Often anxiety is a comorbid diagnsosis with psoriasis, which is to say that people with excessive and/or prolonged anxiety may be at higher risk for psoriais, and the Zoloft (sertraline) may have been prescribed to lower the anxiety and therefore reduce the psoriasis. Ask your prescriber about it.
