A member asked:

Have seen things saying hpv goes away within a few years but dr says it stays your whole life, any truth to it eventually going away, can't transmit?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

HPV: This is a life-long infection. You can transmit HPV by having vaginal, anal, or oral sex with someone who does not have the virus. It is most commonly spread during vaginal or anal sex. HPV can be passed even when an infected person has no signs or symptoms. The vaccine may be of some help.
