Not shingles?: Your first three symptoms do not sound like shingles but severe pharyngitis/laryngitis, probably viral. You don't say if the sores on the scalp are painful, but the scalp is not a common place for shingles. I suspect you have an associated folliculitis (infected/inflamed hair follicles) and may need topical or oral antibiotics. I would consult a dermatologist. Good luck!

May be a secondary i: What medication and dosage were you prescribed? Shingles can take many days to resolve if the medication was not taken soon enough to slow the virus. If you have frank pus from the lesions you may have a secondary infection and require another type of antbiotic.
