Evaluation: Even though you may have this with anxiety, this will be a diagnosis of exclusion. As such an evaluation is needed for diagnosis

Globus hystericus: I agree! That is an old name for the feeling that something was stuck in the throat, like a ball or globe. When no other cause could be found they said it was due to hysteria, usually when applied to women It turns out that some people especially, women, have this sensation with gastroesophageal reflux. Other things can cause it too, & need to be ruled out before you can say it is due to anxiety.
