Rectal Fissure: Typically a fissure causes severe rectal pain and bleeding. Fissures can be associated with hemorrhoids. A bowel regimen to soften stool is first line therapy. Be well. If the fissure is diagnosed and treated you should recover in several weeks. Occasionally surgery is indicated.
