Talk to doctor: You need to find why it is needed. Sometimes cortisone shot is used to reduce the acute inflammation which may cause too much discomfort. At other times it is used to slow down the healing process which may lead to excessive scarring. This is not my specialty and thus you need to discuss this issue with your own doctor
