A member asked:

I use prescription strength anti persperant in arm pits and groin daily. doctor just prescribed carafate (sucralfate) for 8 weeks. will i get alumimum toxicity?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not likely: Carafate (sucralfate) forms a coating around the stomach to protect it from acid, bile salts, and digestive enzymes. Any amount getting absorbed into the bloodstream, if any, would be trace amounts. Similarly, no significant amount of topical antiperspirant is absorbed. Aluminum toxicity is not a concern.
