Swollen tongue: More than likely its a swollen taste bud from a food you ate. They usually go away after a day or 2. Keep an eye on it. If gets worse, go see an oral surgeon or your Primary care doctor

Inflamed tongue: Likely this is irritation to your lingual papillae. Possible it could be from the contact with your boyfriend (mechanical irritation), but usually it is a viral process that is likely unrelated. Fluids, Motrin if needed and good oral hygiene. This should resolve in a few days, but if worsening see your doctor or dentist.
