What is metastatic prostate cancer?

Cancer spread: Any cancer that is metastatic is one that has spread beyond its primary site. In the case of prostate cancer, it is metastatic when cancer cells are found beyond the prostate; e.g. Bone. This, of course, changes the treatment options than if the cancer was confined to just the prostate.

Cancer spread: Metastatic prostate cancer is prostate cancer that has spread from the prostate gland to other areas of the body. The bones are a common area that prostate cancer spreads to. Prostate cancer usually does not spread in its early stages but may after many years become metastatic.

Mets: Any cancer cells outside of the proate's capsule or outer skin is considered metastatic.

Metastasis: in general, metastasis refers to a cancer that has gone from the organ of origin to other parts of the body

Metastatic CA: Metastatic prostate cancer is prostate cancer which has spread outside the body of the prostate, usually to adjacent lymph nodes. There is a predilection to spread to bone after that!
