Varies: From several months to many many many months- will depend on the biology of the cancer, the stage / cancer burdern, treated or untreated?. Overall health condition of the person, other underlying medical problems. Wih available treatmens -i.e. Androgen blocker, abiraterone, provenge, (sipuleucel-t) docetaxel, jevtana and many ohers on development-people w/ metastatic disease can live longer.

Depends: Men with prostate cancer that has spread can live functional lives for many years. Treatment for metastatic disease is hormone ablation...Therapy that is typically given by injection every 3-4 months to stop the body's production of testosterone (hormone that fuels prostate cancer cells). Other medications and sometimes chemotherapy are used to treat advaced disease as well. See your urologist.

Variable: Even metastatic prostate cancer growth may be controlled by medication and a person could for a few years, however, metastatic tumors are generally not curable.
