It depends.: ... on why you had to have the bowel rest in the first place. If it is due to a surgery, you may find that your bowel motility has changed. If because of a medical reason, your motility will likely go back to its baseline. You may ask this question of the doctor who recommended the bowel rest in the first place, since they will have more knowledge of your clinical status. Good luck.
