See Doctor: Sometimes itching can be due to a metabolic disorder only diagnosed by blood work. If all tests come back negative you could get on Atarax (hydroxyzine) which helps when itch has no other cause. Good luck.

The use of medications such as you described (chloropheramine) are classified as antihistamines, but do not necessarily suggest a clear diagnosis unfortunately.
