A member asked:

I have lupus, can i get a c-section without many complications?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: A great deal of the risk comes from the general condition of the patient, other diseases present (hypertension, diabetes, etc.), and other factors such as smoking. The lupus does play a role but if the disease is well controlled without serious involvement such as brain or kidney inflammation, patients can do quite well throughout pregnancy and delivery (c-section or vaginal).
