Vitamins: If you are darker skin race you can have some darker pigment in the sclera of your eyes. I would clarify the recommendation of the vitamin with the prescriber as I am not sure the two are related.

Birthmarks?: Hmmm... without seeing your son, it is hard to say; however, it can be very normal to have "freckles" or areas of hyperpigmentation in the sclera of the eyes. Although, adequate calcium intake is important, I am unsure as to why your physician would have linked the two.
