It may not matter: I am so pleased to hear people willing to put off the pill solution. Consider a good therapist you feel trust in to explore your situation w/ you. After an eval, you'll understand the basis and find the best treatment plan. If it includes a med option, you can discuss it. Not everyone does better w/ them. Try understanding and guidance. I hope you do well.

Depression: Symptoms of depression last at least longer than 2 weeks and are often initiated by stress or health issues. Preventing depression means taking care of your health in general, especially 7-9 hours of sleep per night and frequent exercise. I suggest accomplishing small goals daily to increase self-esteem and interact with supportive people. 1-800-273-8255 if suicidal thoughts or plans.
