UTI or STI: Either a urinary tract infection or a sexually transmitted infection could cause burning with urination. You need to see a doctor for an exam and labs as soon as possible. Both of these can lead to serious problems and hospitalizations if not treated early. Please be seen as soon as possible.

Likely UTI: Symptoms of a urinary tract infection can include urinating more frequently than usual, burning/pain with urination, and foul smelling urine. If severe, there can be fever or even back pain as the infection travels upwards towards the kidneys. A primary care physician can diagnose and treat a urinary tract infection properly. If not infection, other less likely possibilities exist.

Possible infection: Pain with urination, urinary frequency and back discomfort may signal a urinary tract infection. Call/ see a doctor for evaluation and treatment.
