Is it tender?: You may have caused local muscle injury with spasm. Apply heat for 15 minutes 2-3 times daily. Of no better by 3 days, see your clinician. Hope that helps.

Muscle knot: Leave it alone as you may have irritated the area and it is inflamed. If the swelling continues or worsens have it examined to rule out an infection .

See below: Not certain what you mean by "muscle knot. I assume you mean an area of muscle spasm. If the area is very warm and tender you may have caused an infection. If the involved area enlarges or persists you should see your physician as it's not possible in a chat to get a clear idea of what the problem is.

Future problems : Many people just don't have enough room in their jaws for proper erruption or maintenance of wisdom teeth. Sometimes they can form cysts, or damage the other teeth. As a result, we often recommend removing the wisdom teeth before there is pain or swelling. A common time to consider this is around age 15-17, as the roots are not completely formed yet, and the surgery is easiest.

Stretch: Stretch the muscle out, drink lots of water, massage them and take an anti-inflammatory like Motrin or advil (ibuprofen) as long as you arent allergic to either one. Avoid things that hurt (such as running, etc) until you are back to your usual self.

Possible infection: It may or may not be related to the piercing since it is now one year down the line. If it is related then it could be an infection which you should have checked out.

Elevate & compress: The best self treatment would be to elevate your feet (above your heart) when sitting & elevate the foot of the bed while sleeping. Also compression stockings should be applied every morning before getting out of bed.

I agree with the above with the caveat this is discussed with your Internist or specialist as while attempting to remove the swelling from the foot you would not want to overload the heart or lungs.
